"The place where I dwell, my borders"
The art system lives a delicate moment, the crisis of legitimation of the great hegemonic narratives. Symposia, seminars, lectures and meetings of all kinds seek to review the patterns, structures and relations with contemporary art.
This current systemic condition doesn’t get to reflect with clarity and conviction the time we live in; the current standards are from another epoch. The general crisis of exhibition and museum spaces is established.
Looking at the current context of art, we face works of hybrid character, transcultural, multifaceted, polymorphic, interdisciplinary, multidisciplinary, multi-media, relational, cannibal, anthropophagic, contaminated, multi-territorial, etc., etc. That is, a total-mix.
The notion of boundary between different cultural forms has disappeared or diluted itself to a point that it is impossible to comprehend the present state of art without this awareness, which makes a contemporary multiple view mandatory, allied to a multiple contemporary thought.
In this context, we find this exhibition, presenting good fragments of contemporary multi-territorial art.
The exhibition proposes to discuss "the place where I dwell" and, at the same time, allows us to deepen the understanding of the meaning of the word "border" in the "place of present art" through the eyes of a contemporary artists group.
A group of artists who have in common a permanent search for knowledge and the cutting of their identity.
A group that brings in it the renunciation of the geographical, regional and local place, because this referential is limiting. Only by being "from nowhere" makes it possible to reach a free territory, a place of free thought, of free mind.
They make use of traces of their own identities embodied through self-knowledge. Fragments of private sooths and individual universes, capable of generating autobiographical works, with their own personality, with open thinking. In other words, a group marked by differences.
They are artists who value permanent research as a work procedure, because they are aware that through this research art is updated, recycled, tuned in time and allows daily exercise of divine contact with freedom, avoiding trends and building a rich diversity.
The uncertainties and the mystery in art are part of our time, thank goodness! Art moves us towards the search of answers, while certainties are sterile and inert. The truth is that art, as a tool of questioning, has a huge transforming power in the consciousness of all of us and, at the same time, fulfills the role of enriching our existence.
They are artists with a high degree of contemporary tuning. Tunings capable of producing works that are born from the dialogue between personal truths and the awareness of the time we live in.

Datasheet:
Title: "In transito"
Technique: video art (time = 1 minute, in looping), metal engravings (various sizes)

Multi-territorial dialogue between two languages of art: the traditional engraving and the video.
The visual sensitivity of the artist made her notice a nature phenomenon that caught her attention: the black spot created by the grouping and movement of small larvae. A living black spot that modified its own design at every instant, evincing its ephemerality, revealing its black texture with greater or lesser intensity due to the greater or lesser densification of the larvae.
This phenomenon led Vicencia to perceive a great similarity and dialogue with the black spots in her engravings. It was like seeing her work alive, in-progress, in continuous mutability of forms, in an advance of transient drawings, in a surprisingly cadenced rhythm in a continuous process of construction and deconstruction.

"My art talks about the feminine universe, about my dreams as a child, about the curious look kept in my memory, about the life in the countryside and the smell of wet soil, about the joy of living. I talk about the moments of loneliness, about looking at the immensity of the universe and beyond. I talk about the lived moments, about the non-lived ones, about the plots of the world, about the human being. Creating, for me, it's a necessity."
